Assessment methodology

How assessment evidence is gathered

Structured technical assessment combines scenario observation, knowledge testing and assessor-led questioning. Evidence from each component is documented in a Technical Verification Report.

Three ways evidence is gathered

Structured technical assessment combines scenario observation, knowledge testing and assessor-led questioning to examine technical understanding and professional judgement.

Video Observation

Planned

Asynchronous scenario assessment

02:1408:00

Candidates examine recorded engineering scenarios and document time-stamped technical observations, identifying potential faults, unsafe conditions and appropriate actions.

Assessment scope and limitations

The Technical Verification Report documents the evidence obtained through the agreed remote assessment. It does not independently certify practical competence, professional registration or authorisation to undertake field work. Video observation and MCQ components are shown as planned demonstrations and are not represented as live services until their implementation is completed and verified.
